Cycling Offers and Information
We would like to use our platform to recommend exercise options beyond our own courses.
Fortunately, we live on the coast in surroundings that are just waiting to be explored, e.g. by bike. But there are also paths and routes for more sport-oriented variations.
Have fun browsing. We hope to provide you with alternatives to the classic University Sport course offers.
Together with Komoot – a Free Cycling App

Here is a link to the Komoot website (https://www.komoot.com/de-de/discover/Greifswald/@54.0957910,13.3815238/tours?sport=racebike&map=true&max_distance=10000&pageNumber=1 [de]). This is a great tool for planning your own routes. The location is set to Greifswald and the search radius is 10 km. You can also select the type of sport (top left), which mainly distinguishes between road bikes, gravel bikes and ‘normal’ bikes, and adjust your fitness level for the difficulty of a tour.
If you are interested in starting or leading a cycling group yourself, please get in touch with us. We could also imagine this as a course, especially to get beginners excited about more structured cycling.
Rides with Team Radmarathon Greifswald e.V.
The Team Radmarathon Greifswald e.V. (TRG) organises the traditional Anradeln cycling event every spring. The club joins forces with numerous cyclists to ride a tour around Greifswald in what will hopefully be glorious spring weather.
The start of the three routes (sporty approx. 60 km, fitness approx. 45 km, family approx. 20 km) is at 9:45 a.m. from the Radcenter Fründ (Rigaer Str. 9, 17493 Greifswald, Ostseeviertel shopping centre). The ride takes place in a closed group led by the sports enthusiasts of the TRG. Experience has shown that the average speeds are 28-30 km/h on the sporty route and 23-25 km/h on the fitness route. Everyone is guaranteed to be able to keep up on the family route.
If you would like to cycle the route on your own or with others outside of the event, here is the route for you:
Bike Park

Greifswald now has its own bike park. The Stadtwerke Bike Park [de] has been specially developed for cycling. The park includes the VTK pump track with artificial mounds, steep turns, jumps and steps – the perfect terrain for all BMX and dirt bike enthusiasts. The bike park is operated by HSG Uni Greifswald e.V., an independent sports club that originated at the university.
Vorpommern Cycling Tour
The Rad-Touren-Fahrt (RTF) is the best known and most widespread type of cycling event for all members of the German Cycling Federation (Bund Deutscher Radfahrer e.V.) [de]. It usually takes place once a year at the beginning of September.
As there is no timekeeping and there are usually three parallel routes (between approx. 41 and 170 km) to choose from, participants can set their own pace. Anyone can take part in cycle tours, even if they are not members of a cycling club. The start and finish area is usually located in Greifswald, on the grounds of the Waldorf School Greifswald. The tour usually starts on a Sunday at 9 a.m.
Cycling Beyond University Sport

Those who prefer to cycle in a team and are a little more ambitious may be better suited to Team Radsport der HSG Uni Greifswald e.V. [de]. This is an independent club whose cycling division brings together over 100 ambitious amateur competitive athletes, hobby cyclists and young aspiring athletes.
